Rowdy Yates is a second-generation broadcaster, born and raised deep in the heart of Texas — and practically raised inside some of the greatest radio stations ever to hit the airwaves.

The son of legendary news journalist and Paul Harvey stand-in Joe Holstead, Rowdy grew up with a microphone in his DNA. His radio journey has taken him to major markets like Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Houston, Tulsa, and Dallas — with a few memorable stops in the “B-towns” of Bryan, Bridgeport, and Brady along the way.

He launched his career at just 15 years old, playing church services near his home in Ft. Worth — back when his mom still had to drive him to work every Sunday morning.

These days, Rowdy brings his offbeat humor, irreverent insight, and one-of-a-kind storytelling to "The Rowdy Ride Home" weekday afternoons. You'll love his take on everything from the latest headlines to the wildest oddball stories — all delivered with that unmistakable wit.
